My daughter was initially nervous but curious about needles, so Den used other methods while gently encouraging the needles, giving her the information she needed to relax into the process. Den is truly motivated to heal and will take the time necessary to fully understand what treatment is needed. It’s clear that Den thinks about my daughter’s treatment plan between visits and fully and enthusiastically partners in her care. My daughter is completely comfortable with her. She told me that she never thought she’d allow someone to put needles in her but that Den’s knowledge and kindness put her ease. ‘I can relax’ she said ‘because I totally trust that she can help me’. Den is amazing. She has a wonderful energy that immediately puts me at ease when our session begins.
She’s been immensely helpful with preparing my body for (fingers crossed!) pregnancy, easing my anxiety, and improving my asthma symptoms and sleep issues. I especially love the herbal formulas she’s had me on, which have become fundamental in my daily routine. It feels good to have an ally in my corner who keeps my self-aware and engaged with my wellness. Otherwise I’d be powering through for better or for worse – Den helps me listen to my body and tune into its needs.
What do you do when your doctor assures you that your child will outgrow their night terrors and that everything is fine but you are at your wits end and haven’t slept a whole night in 3 years?
When I came into Dr. Den’s office I felt like a broken person and a bad mom, with this overwhelming feeling of helplessness. I was tired and had no idea how to help my child. Every child is different, but Dr. Den figured out how to help. She embraced us and fully supported our journey by answering emails quickly or leaving herbs on her counter for me to pick up when I ran out! My child isn’t always willing to get taps (needles), but Dr. Den is ready with a back up plan in action before I can even apologize! Dr. Den has an amazing demeanor that works incredibly well with children. My whole house can now sleep all through the night and my child has now been off her other medications for Asthma since starting treatments! I wish I could put into words how much gratitude I have for her!! If you have a child with night terrors I can NOT recommend Dr. Den to you enough!!! She changed our lives and I will be eternally grateful to her!!
My granddaughter’s treatments began with Den when she was 18 months old; her condition has improved steadily since our first visit.
I firmly believe that the combination of Den’s approach to wellness which includes acupuncture, message, body/nerve stimulation coupled with the nutritional guidance and general approach to whole body health has improved the condition and my child’s overall health. My granddaughter enjoys going to the office–she has not once been reluctant to enter practice itself or Den’s office. With other professionals she has been reluctant and stressed just approaching the office. But with Den she is different. I believe that is because Den is patient, professional and has a wonderful way of working with children–the office itself has a calming effect and Den’s own personal professional style is among the best I have ever experienced with any professional–male, female, nurse or doctor, therapist. I cannot say enough good things about Den. I am certain that the experience with Den will remain with my granddaughter for a lifetime. I recommend Den for children as well as adults, and feel very fortunate to have found someone to treat such a young child with such confidence. If you are at all considering acupuncture for a child or yourself, I highly recommend Den.
My Daughter Mica, who is African American, has been a patient of Den’s for the past 6 months due to developing Alopecia Areata.
This is an autoimmune skin disease causing hair loss on the scalp. Since being under Den’s care, her hair has grown tremendously since her first initial visit. Her visits were weekly for the past 6 months and now we are able to scale the appointments down to 1-2 per month because of the amount of hair growth and the thickness of her hair.
If I could post before and after pictures of her hair you would be amazed at how much her hair has grown. Lastly, Den is patient with her, takes her time with Mica since she is 2 years old. I am happy with treatment of care my daughter Mica has received from Den.
Den was my VERY FIRST acupuncturist. Den laid a solid foundation for me in my early 20’s.

The acupuncture is helping me with my skin problems and general health, but I also love the discussions we have about my health before the acupuncture. I gave my daughter a set of Dr’s instruments for Christmas & she loves pretending to be Dr. Den!
(I should add some things though…it’s a very western set of instruments!) Den is such a gift. I wish I’d thought to find her a couple of years ago.
My skin is very sensitive and I am scared of needles, so Den is using special needles and techniques so I can relax and still get great results.
My mother and my daughter are also getting acupuncture at The Acupuncture Den. It’s great to have a whole family practice in the neighborhood!
